Into 2013

Having stepped into 2013, a day old, has anything changed? Obviously there are the new possibilities, opportunities that a new year presents with the passing of time given our yearly routine changes. But 2012 has been a most momentous year to pass by so easily. Besides the end of the Mayan long-haul calendar, 2012 has proved unforgettable as it has brought about a complete change in consciousness for the world population.

We watched `Life of Pi’ which took off from `Avatar’ presenting a 3-D nature spectacular. The experience definitely imbibed in us greater respect and admiration of our natural world and hopefully greater awareness for its conservation.

I see this as a most positive development – rightfully a consciousness change for the better.

Post dec 21, 2012.

We did expect to see a spectacular cosmic occurence – be it disastrous or otherwise on Dec 21 but nothing supposedly happened or so it seemed.
Our belief is still firm that something positive is underway and that we artists will be the beneficiaries probably in terms of artistic inspirations or opportunities.
Well this cannot be denied.
We indeed feel a sense of rejuvenation and hopeful that a new era has arrived.

The New Age For Artists

A free flight – green parrots.

What started in Cheras 2 1/2 mls Municipal Quarters will continue in this New Post Dec 21, 2012 Age. The change whatever it is, will only be good for the artists who had been trapped for so long within the grip of the materialistic age which started with the industrial revolution in the 18th/19th Century.

The Western civilisation which had dominated human development all this while with its so-called industrial, scientific and technological advancement has finally come to its senses – realising that their way is not the right path for this world.

Having given up on their capabilities to twist the world according to their whims (given  the spectre of natural disasters they are faced with now), Western scientists and thinkers are now saying that the human being was created by aliens (Anunaki), debunking the Big Bang theory and Darwin’s evolution theory. They are even resigned to the fact that the human being was created as slave labour for a superior alien race who had visited earth in pre-historic times (Mayan, Sumerian, Egyptian etc). This humbling thought is indeed the turning point of Western civilisation which had been on a major ego trip (domineering) all this while.

I believe Dec 21, 2012 is the D-day for corrupt politicians and industrialists without the support of  the modernisation trend set by the Westerners. This is welcome news for us artists. This is the time for spiritualistic (nothing to do with so-called religions)  man to come to the fore and take charge of the human imagination. The front line of the spiritualistic movement are the artists (painters, musicians, dramatists, writers and stage performers)  followed by philosophers, philanthropists and environmentalists. So, there is a lot work ahead for us in the coming age.
