captain prabhakaran’s end?

The Sri Lankan Government’s claim that it had wiped out the LTTE (Tamil Tigers) with the killing of its supremo and other top leaders appears believable judging by the picture of Captain Prabhakaran’s body.

The Sri Lankan Government has been so adamant in its offensive against the LTTE over the past few months that no one actually trusts anything they say. They have been spewing lies and spreading propaganda all through the war that they now appear to have lost all credibility.  Now one wonders about the origin of these Sinhalese people especially their leaders. Are they actually the descendants of Ravana as shown by their demoniac tendencies? It is surprising that their Buddhist priests who are supposed to be following the way of ahimsa (non-violence) had actually incited the hatred for Tamils among their community. But Ravana was not a rogue like Rajapakse, he had more refinement. Rajapakse appears just like the Chesire cat with his false grin and cunning eyes.

Despite this, I am also not supportive of the terror tactics of the LTTE. They could have strengthened the Tamil base in Sri Lanka through clever diplomacy and defensive strategy. Killing Sinhalese as well as non LTTE Tamils was their undoing for violence only begets violence.  It is true that the lives of the Tamil community and Sinhala community of Sri Lanka had been grossly disrupted and agitated by the British during Colonial days. If anyone is to be blamed for the civil war of Sri Lanka it should be the British. Their traders  robbed the country clean in the period of their occupation, leaving the impoverished people to fight among themselves for their survival.

Whichever land the European Colonials occupied, they have left behind their legacy of impoverishing the people of the land by robbing them clean. Malaysia is one such country.

It wouldn’t be a bad idea for all the countries from where the Colonials robbed to enrich their own countries to group together and bring their former occupiers to justice. Let an international court pass the sentence upon the guilty party that they pay back every cent they stole from the affected countries with interest for the whole century that has past since the offence took place. We cannot just categorise these countries as Third World Countries.
